Probe as reveler found dead in a bar in Zimmerman, Nairobi

Police are investigating the death of a man in a bar in the Zimmerman area, Nairobi. The body of the man was found on a seat and leaning on a table moments after he had died.

The cause of death was not immediately known, police said. He had been at the bar for a while, police and witnesses said.

Police said a brother of the deceased reported that he was to meet him at the bar on Sunday evening for talks.

When he arrived at the bar, he found his brother unresponsive and seated on a chair while leaning on a table.

The relative and other friends rushed him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The bar management said the deceased was in the company of two other people who were yet to be identified and traced.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

Meanwhile, a night guard was found dead after an attack at his place of work in Riat, Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County.

Police said the guard, identified as Steven Ochieng, 27, was on duty at the Paris Bar when he was killed on Sunday morning.

The motive of the murder was not established. His body, which had stab wounds on the neck, was found lying about 800 metres from his place of work.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations. Police said they are looking for the assailants involved in the murder of the guard.

And the decomposed body of a fisherman who had drowned in Lake Victoria was recovered. The body was found in Muhuru Bay, Migori County’s Senye Beach.

The man drowned on November 11, 2025, when he and a group of other fishermen were fishing in the area.

Their boat was hit by waves and capsized. Three fishermen managed to swim to safety, while Isaiah Okech, 42, drowned.

His body was found on Sunday in a decomposed state, police said, adding that it was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

And a pedestrian was killed in a road accident along Thika Road in the Pangani area.

The incident happened under a footbridge, with police saying the victim had ignored the use of the bridge and decided to cross the road on foot.

He died on the spot as the car involved in the accident sped off. Police said they are investigating the incident.

In Kikuyu, a boda boda rider was killed in an accident. His two pillion passengers were injured in the incident.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

Fatal accidents have been on the rise in the country. Officials blame boda boda riders for most of the incidents amid a campaign to address the issue.
