Police are investigating the discovery of a senior officer’s body in Ololilai, Kajiado County.

The decomposing body of Chief Inspector Dennis Kwena Ayoma, attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, was found on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in his one-room house in Majengo area, Namanga Town.

Authorities said the time and cause of death are yet to be determined. Neighbours reported a foul smell from the house, prompting them to check.

They discovered the body lying on the bed.

Police indicated the officer was last seen in the area on Sunday evening.

He had taken a short leave and was expected to resume duties on November 16, 2025.

The body was moved to the mortuary, and an autopsy is pending. Investigations are ongoing.

In Nyandarua County, police recovered the body of a man who had been missing for six days.

John Mwangi Macharia disappeared from Nyakarianga village on November 7, prompting a missing person report.

His body was found on Thursday in a swamp at Oljororok, with visible injuries to the back of his head.

The motive for his death has not been established.

The body was taken to the mortuary, and investigations are ongoing.

In Homa Bay County’s Arunda estate, 29-year-old Wycliffe Amollo was found dead in his home.

Police reported that he was alone at the time.

The body had stab wounds to the chest and head. It was moved to the mortuary for an autopsy, and investigations are underway.

In Rangwe, Homa Bay County, police arrested a suspect linked to the murder of 58-year-old Michael Odongo last month.

Authorities said the suspect was apprehended in a hideout and is expected to face a murder charge.
