
The Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) will address a press conference on the state of the nation.
The bishops from all the 28 dioceses meeting at Donum Dei in Karen will speak to several issues affecting the nation at 10.30 am.
KCCB is the assembly of all Catholic Bishops in Kenya who collectively exercise their pastoral office to promote the Catholic Church's mission in the country.
It is a permanent institution that works to promote the greater good of society by focusing on various apostolates and is involved in national issues such as development aid, social services, and advocacy on matters of national concern, like anti-corruption and care reform
In July, KCCB said the church will not be cowed into silence amid poor leadership.
KCCB underscored the importance of the voice of the church in societal issues.
The bishops said they will continue raising the voice of Kenyans amid challenges such as poverty, inequality, youth unemployment, and a lack of transparency in government.
RUTO CONTINUES
WORKING TOUR OF UKAMBANI REGION
President William Ruto will continue with his working tour of the Ukambani region.
Ruto will be inspecting and, in other cases, launching projects in the infrastructure, housing, healthcare, community empowerment, energy, water, and sanitation sectors.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and a host of Cabinet Secretaries accompanied Ruto on his first day of the tour on Wednesday.
The President commissioned the Mikuyu Bridge in Kilome West as part of the government’s long-term measures to prevent flood-related deaths.
He also issued 2,140 title deeds to residents of Kasikeu in Makueni County, saying the initiative aims to resolve longstanding land ownership challenges in the region.
GACHAGUA TO LEAD
OPPOSITION CAMPAIGNS IN MBEERE NORTH CONSTITUENCY
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will lead campaigns for the Opposition candidate in Mbeere North Constituency.
United Opposition has backed the Democratic Party candidate, Newton Karish.
Former Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi is expected to accompany Gachagua in the campaigns.
Karish will face ruling UDA’s candidate Leonard Muthende in the by-election.
Meanwhile, former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i will be heading to Nyamira County for Opposition meetings as Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka leaves the country for Gaborone, Botswana.
NCIC TO LAUNCH FOUR REPORTS ON ETHNIC INCLUSION AND COHESION IN THE COUNTRY
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) will launch four key reports in line with its role in overseeing the elimination of ethnic discrimination in public institutions and enhancing cohesion.
Interior and National Government Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen will be the chief guest at the event held at Radisson Blu, Upper Hill, Nairobi, at 9 am.
The reports are Ethnic and Diversity Audit of Parastatals 2025, Ethnic and Diversity Audit of Public Universities in Kenya, Evolution of Organised Criminal Gangs in Kenya and The Guidelines for Conducting Peaceful Elections in Kenya.
EACC TO PRESENT REPORT ON INTEGRITY AND SYSTEMS AT NATIONAL POLICE SERVICE
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) will present a report of the examination into the systems, policies, procedures, and practices of work at the National Police Service (NPS).
This presentation follows an examination conducted by the commission between February 10, 2025 and June 13, 2025, supported by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) under the programme for Legal Empowerment and Aid Delivery in Kenya, Phase II (PLEAD II), funded by the European Union (EU).
The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. at the National Police Leadership Academy, Ngong, Kajiado County and will be officiated by the EACC Chairperson, David Oginde
