

A 28-year-old woman has died following a domestic altercation in Karuri, Kiambu County.
The woman, identified as Lydia Wanjiru Mwangi, succumbed to injuries at Karuri Hospital after being attacked in her home at Banana–Sunview Estate.
Police said the suspected assailant, believed to be her husband, was arrested shortly after the incident.
According to neighbours, a heated argument broke out between the couple on Saturday night before the man allegedly struck her on the head with a metal bar.
Residents rushed to intervene and quickly took Ms Mwangi to the nearby Karuri Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
Neighbours detained the suspect at the scene before handing him over to police officers from the Karuri Police Station.
Detectives later visited the scene and recovered two metal bars believed to have been used in the assault.
The body was moved to the Kiambu Level Five Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.
Police say they are treating the case as a domestic murder and have launched investigations to establish the circumstances that led to the fatal confrontation.
Authorities in Kiambu have raised concerns over the rising cases of domestic violence in the area.
Police data shows that most victims of such incidents are women.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has in recent months intensified efforts to curb domestic-related killings by devolving the operations of its homicide unit and enhancing training for officers handling the cases
Elsewhere, in Nyaramba, Nyamira County, police have launched a probe after the body of a 30-year-old man was discovered by the roadside on Saturday morning.
The deceased, identified as Geoffrey Ongaro, was found with visible bruises on his face.
Police said the motive of the killing remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
His body was moved to the Nyamira County Referral Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, in Nairobi, detectives are investigating a sudden death incident that occurred at the Easy Coach bus station on Friday night.
Police reported that Samson Were, 53, died while waiting to board a bus to Migori.
Witnesses said he had complained of fatigue and sat to rest as his brother booked their tickets, only to be later found unresponsive.
Officers arrived at the scene and moved the body to the City Mortuary pending autopsy results.
The cause of death is yet to be determined.
Police have expressed concern over the
growing number of violent and unexplained deaths reported across the country,
noting that they record an average of eight murder cases daily.
