Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has embarked on a major reorganisation drive ahead of the 2027 General Election, with a firm commitment to conduct credible and transparent party nominations.

Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni said the party has strengthened its internal mechanisms to ensure a fair process that gives all aspirants equal opportunity.

Speaking Friday during a delegates’ meeting at Thika Greens in Murang’a county, Kioni emphasised that the days of chaotic and disputed nominations were over.

“No one will be favoured in the nomination process. We have put in place all structures to ensure the exercise is free and fair. We don’t want to go back to 2022—we know what happened,” he said.

He noted that credible nominations are the foundation of party unity and public confidence.

The meeting, attended by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i, and other senior officials, brought together delegates from across the Mt. Kenya region and beyond to deliberate on the party’s revival strategy.

Kioni said Jubilee will adhere strictly to its constitution and nomination rules to safeguard the dignity of aspirants and strengthen internal democracy.

He added that the party remains an integral part of the united opposition coalition, committed to offering alternative leadership and policy ideas for the country.

“Jubilee is rebuilding on the values of fairness, integrity, and inclusion. We want to show Kenyans that politics can be done differently—with respect and order,” he stated.

Former Murang’a Senator Kembi Gitura, who also addressed the meeting, said the party is determined to reconnect with its grassroots supporters across all regions.

“We are ready to move to every corner of the country and preach the Jubilee gospel. It’s time to support our candidates and rebuild our strength,” said Gitura.

He also urged members to rally behind the leadership of Kenyatta and Matiang’i in steering the party’s comeback.

Gitura expressed optimism that with renewed unity and focused leadership, Jubilee would regain its place as a major political force in the country.

He called on young people and professionals to take part in the party’s reorganisation process, noting that inclusivity and participation would determine its success.

The Thika Greens meeting is part of a broader series of consultative forums that the party is holding nationwide to realign its structures, energise members, and prepare for upcoming grassroots and national elections.

Party insiders said the leadership is keen on avoiding internal wrangles that weakened the party in the past and is now focusing on restoring discipline, accountability, and loyalty within its ranks.

As the 2027 race begins to take shape, Jubilee hopes to reposition itself as a credible political vehicle for politicians across the country.

The party has endorsed Matiang’i as its presidential candidate in the 2027 General Election.
