President Ruto also used the occasion to encourage the youth in Busia to register for the State’s Nyota program initiative, which targets young people seeking business mentorship, financing, and job placement opportunities.

President William Ruto on Friday presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of new hostels at Bumbe National Polytechnic in Funyula Constituency, Busia County.

The project, which is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to expand infrastructure in technical and vocational education institutions, is expected to boost student accommodation and improve learning conditions at the institution.

President Ruto was accompanied by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, and Cabinet Secretary for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development, Wycliffe Oparanya.

Ruto received a warm reception upon his arrival.

He laid the foundation stone for the new hostels and assured residents of the government’s commitment to improving access to technical training across the country.

“We want to ensure that no young person is left behind. Through programs like Nyota, the government will support youth who are ready to work, innovate, and grow their enterprises,” he said.

The President further assured Busia residents that his administration would continue investing in key infrastructure projects in the region, including roads, electricity connectivity, and water supply.
