The
Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 86 job openings in the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs, inviting qualified Kenyans to apply before the November 18,
2025, deadline.
In
a notice published in local dailies, the PSC stated that it is seeking
candidates to fill three key positions within the foreign service.
These
include 37 vacancies for the position of Director, Foreign Service/Minister II
under Job Group CSG 5, 26 slots for Deputy Director, Foreign Service/Minister
Counsellor in CSG 6, and 23 positions for Assistant Director, Foreign
Service/Counsellor in CSG 7.
According
to the Commission, interested applicants are required to submit their
applications online through its official website, www.publicservice.go.ke,
while detailed job descriptions and requirements are available at
www.psckjobs.go.ke.
The
PSC emphasized that all applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m.
on November 18, 2025.
The
Commission further cautioned job seekers against falling victim to fraudsters
posing as PSC officials or individuals soliciting bribes under the guise of
facilitating employment. It reiterated that the application process is entirely
free of charge, and no payments are required at any stage, including shortlisting,
interviews, or appointment.
According
to PSC, this recruitment exercise is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen
Kenya’s diplomatic capacity by attracting skilled and dedicated professionals
to the public service. The newly appointed officers will play a crucial role in
advancing Kenya’s foreign policy objectives and representing the nation’s
interests abroad.
This
initiative is in line with the PSC’s vision of fostering a values-driven,
citizen-centric public service and its mission to ensure ethical, effective, and
inclusive service delivery.
The
Public Service Commission is a constitutional body established under Article
233(1) of the Constitution of Kenya. It plays a vital role in ensuring the
efficiency, professionalism, and integrity of Kenya’s public service.
Its
functions and powers are derived from the Public Service Commission Act, which
grants it both oversight and enforcement authority across national and county
institutions.
Under
the Act, the Commission is empowered to issue summonses necessary to execute
its mandate, administer oaths, collect relevant data and official records, and
conduct interviews or inquiries related to its functions.
It may also request special reports from
public institutions on matters pertaining to their operations.
The
PSC remains central to upholding accountability, ethical governance, and
constitutional values in the public service. Its mission is to reform and
transform Kenya’s public sector for efficient, transparent, and effective
service delivery to all citizens.
