Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano and Miss Pearl Rowena Indana Rowe

The Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Rebecca Miano, has announced the official send-off of Miss Pearl Rowena Indana Rowe, who will represent Kenya at the forthcoming World Miss University pageant in Cambodia.

The event, scheduled for December 17, 2025, will see Miss Rowe attend with the Ministry’s full endorsement to promote Kenya’s diverse tourism offerings and cultural heritage.

Speaking in Nairobi during a briefing held at her office, Miano commended Miss Rowe for her dedication to representing the country with pride and professionalism.

The Cabinet Secretary said the Ministry is proud to support her as she steps onto a global platform that attracts audiences from across the world.

Miss Rowe, the reigning Miss University Kenya 2025, was appointed as Kenya’s Tourism Ambassador ahead of the global contest, where she will showcase the nation’s unique blend of heritage, creativity, and innovation.

Her selection is part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to promote cultural diplomacy through youth-centered initiatives that integrate talent, education, and tourism promotion.

At just 23 years old, Miss Rowe represents a new generation of young Kenyans taking up ambassadorial roles in different sectors.

She is not only a beauty queen but also a fourth-year Computer Science student at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

This combination of intellect and elegance reflects the balance between tradition and modernity that defines Kenya today.

In her ambassadorial role, Miss Rowe will use the platform offered by the World Miss University pageant to highlight Kenya’s strengths as a top global destination.

She is expected to promote Kenya’s tourism gems through cultural exhibitions, storytelling, and personal interaction with international audiences.

Her presentation will include displays of traditional attire, art, and music, as well as messages on wildlife conservation and sustainable tourism.

Cabinet Secretary Miano expressed her confidence in Miss Rowe’s ability to represent the country with excellence.

“It is with immense pleasure that we endorse Miss Pearl Rowe as our tourism ambassador at a significant global event. She represents the modern face of our nation with her ambitious, educated, and connected with her cultural roots. Miss Rowe’s mission perfectly aligns with our strategic objectives to promote Kenya through authentic narratives. Her journey to Cambodia is a national project of cultural diplomacy. We are confident that she will eloquently tell the Kenyan story, captivate the world, and inspire a new wave of visitors to experience magical Kenya.” Miano said.

Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita, who accompanied Miss Rowe to the meeting, also lauded her appointment.

“As leaders, we have a responsibility to nurture and spotlight the next generation of ambassadors who carry Kenya’s story to the world. Miss Rowe’s journey is not only a personal triumph but a reflection of our nation’s youthful brilliance, innovation, and cultural pride. I am deeply proud to support her as she represents Kenya on the global stage, showcasing the very best of who we are as a people,” Nyamita said.

This collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife and the Office of the Uriri Member of Parliament demonstrates a shared commitment to nurturing young talent and elevating Kenya’s image abroad.

It also reflects a new approach by the government to blend traditional tourism marketing with creative, personality-driven initiatives that connect with younger global audiences.

Miss Rowe’s participation in the international pageant underscores Kenya’s soft power in cultural diplomacy and tourism promotion.

Her presence on such a global stage is expected to enhance Kenya’s visibility as a destination of choice for culture, adventure, and sustainable travel.

The Ministry has urged Kenyans to rally behind Miss Rowe as she prepares to carry the nation’s flag to Cambodia, representing the spirit, resilience, and beauty of Kenya.

Her journey symbolizes hope and the promise of a generation ready to tell Kenya’s story of innovation, tradition, and global excellence.
