A section of senior government officials from the Mount Kenya region has urged Kenyans to unite behind the government’s development agenda, saying national progress depends on trust and collaboration between citizens and leaders.

Speaking on Saturday in Gatundu North during the Jamii Imara Mashinani forum, the leaders called on Kenyans to focus on government programs and ignore what they termed as misleading narratives from the opposition.

The Jamii Imara Mashinani initiative brings together principal secretaries, CEOs, and directors from various state departments.

It seeks to take government services, information, and feedback directly to the grassroots, enhancing transparency, accountability, and public participation.

Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura reaffirmed that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains committed to improving livelihoods through targeted social and economic initiatives. He urged citizens to focus on the government’s tangible achievements rather than political propaganda.

“Some people are trying to create unnecessary confusion and distrust,” Mwaura said.

“Our message is simple — don’t be misled by those spreading falsehoods. Look at the ongoing projects, the jobs being created, and the transformation happening across the country. This government is about delivery, not noise.”

Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome said the Mount Kenya region continues to benefit from government projects and reaffirmed her ministry’s commitment to ending corruption through digitization.

“We are working tirelessly to digitize land services across the country,” Wahome said.

“This is not just about embracing technology; it’s about eradicating corruption that has long plagued the sector. Kenyans must support these efforts and ignore distractions meant to derail progress.”

She emphasized that the government aims to make land transactions simpler, more transparent, and more accessible in line with President William Ruto’s digital transformation agenda.

Principal Secretary for Correctional Services Salome Wairimu Muhia described Jamii Imara Mashinani as a platform that demonstrates a government that listens and engages with the people.

“The essence of governance is listening,” she said. “Through Jamii Imara Mashinani, we are building trust between the people and the state. Development must be a shared journey where everyone feels seen, heard, and served.”

Muhia urged Kenyans to support the government’s programs, noting that unity and cooperation are key to achieving long-term growth.

Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni said reforms in the health sector aim to ensure affordable, quality healthcare for all.

“Good health is the foundation of progress,” Muthoni said.

“We are expanding healthcare access, combating drug abuse, and empowering youth to shape their futures. The government is determined to ensure that no Kenyan is left behind.”
