Security has been heightened on Sunday morning at Opoda Farm in Bondo, Siaya County, as preparations got underway to move the body of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) for the funeral service.

Military officers from the three formations are all set for the procession from Raila Odinga's Opoda home to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University, the venue for the burial service.

Armed military vehicles and security personnel have been deployed to secure the area and manage the large number of mourners expected to accompany the procession.

Roads leading to the university were cleared as government and family officials coordinated the final arrangements.
