9:56 am: Raila Odinga's body arrives at Nyayo Stadium for the State Funeral.

The convoy snaked through Uhuru Highway into the grounds at 9:46 a.m.

Upon arrival, mourners broke into wails, even as the convoy made a round.

The body had left Parliament Buildings for Nyayo National Stadium, marking the next chapter in the state funeral.

9:22 am: Raila Odinga's body leaves Parliament Buildings for Nyayo Stadium for the State Funeral.

The procession began shortly after 9:20 am, with military pallbearers carrying the flag-draped casket out of Parliament’s main entrance. 

A ceremonial guard of honour stood at attention as the hearse, flanked by uniformed officers and family members, made its way through Nairobi’s streets.

7:23 am: The body of the former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, has been taken to Parliament ahead of the State Funeral scheduled to take place today, Friday, at 9 am at Nyayo Stadium.

Key dignitaries, including MPs and foreign delegations who did not have the opportunity to view his body, will have the chance to do so.

The body is expected to lie in State in line with protocols that dictate the final rite of a dignitary of Raila's stature.

7:00 am: Kenyans continue to pay their last respects to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as state events unfold at the Nyayo Stadium today.

The President, Deputy President, and foreign dignitaries will join the family for the Anglican service and tributes from 9:35 a.m.

The President will then deliver his address and welcome global leaders to pay homage.

In the afternoon, the body will be moved to the Karen residence ahead of the final burial in Bondo on October 19.
