A
40-year-old woman was found dead after being assaulted by a man suspected to be
her husband in a domestic fight in Dandora, Nairobi.
The
body of Judy Wambui Maina was discovered lying on the floor on Sunday, October
12, 2025, long after her murder.
Her
husband, who is the main suspect in the killing, was missing, Nairobi police
boss George Seda said.
Neighbours
reported hearing commotion from the couple’s house before they went to check
what was happening.
It
was then that they found the woman’s body lying on the floor with a visible
injury on her head.
Police
were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy
and further investigations.
The
assailant was still on the run on Monday, and police said efforts were being
made to locate him for questioning.
Cases
of murder involving women have been on the rise amid ongoing campaigns to
address the menace.
A
special team formed earlier this year to investigate killings targeting women
has already submitted its preliminary report, which is yet to be made public.
In
a separate incident in Mosoriot, Nandi County, a man identified as Nathan
Ngesirei, 60, was found dead and naked by the roadside after being murdered.
Police
said the motive of the October 12, 2025, murder was not immediately
established.
The
body had visible injuries on the head, and a blood-stained piece of wood was
found next to it. The body was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy and
further investigations.
In
Daraja Mbili, Maseno, Kisumu County, another man, Hillary Odhiambo, 25, was
found dead in his home after being stabbed.
Police
said the body had two stab wounds — one in the back and another in the chest.
According
to police, the deceased had quarreled with his cousin over a missing mobile
phone charger, which turned physical. The assailant allegedly stabbed him
during the altercation.
Officers
said they found blood stains leading to the suspect’s house, about 100 meters
away.
A
blood-stained shirt and a slasher believed to have been used in the attack were
also recovered.
The
suspect was later arrested with injuries on his left palm as he sought medical
attention at a local hospital, police said. He will face murder charges.
The
body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Elsewhere
in Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County, police said they were investigating a drowning
incident.
The
incident occurred on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Kasiege Beach, involving a
fisherman identified as Byron Ochieng, 22.
The
deceased had left home on Friday for a fishing expedition on Lake Victoria but
failed to return.
This
prompted a search by fellow fishermen in the area, and two days later, his body
was found floating near the shore.
The
body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.
