President William Ruto led the nation Tuesday in marking the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Day celebrations.
This year's event, held at Moi Barracks in Eldoret, saw Ruto break the tradition by donning full military fatigues for the first time.
In his address, the Head of State reaffirmed the KDF's central role in safeguarding the nation’s
sovereignty and driving development.
He termed the ceremony as a moment
of deep national pride and reflection on the sacrifices made by men
and women in uniform.
The military, he said, is the “living shield of our Republic and the pillar of
our prosperity" praising the soldiers for their courage,
professionalism, and patriotism.
