Detectives are investigating the murder of a woman whose body was found in a house after a domestic fight in Kabete area, Kiambu County.
The woman was identified as Jackline Kangashi, 30.
Her body was found on Wednesday morning, lying in her
rented house in Mutengo village, Kanyariri, hours after she had been killed.
Police said the body
had deep cuts on the neck, which were inflicted by a panga.
The suspected
assailant, who police said was her husband, escaped the scene after the attack.
The couple’s children, aged nine, six and three, were found shaken in the house as their mother’s body
lay on the floor.
Police said the body
lay in a pool of blood before it was taken to the mortuary pending an
autopsy.
The children were
taken away by the woman’s brother-in-law, who was called to the scene.
Police said they
recovered a panga that was used in the mission.
The children told police
the couple had quarrelled before the man turned violent and attacked the woman
fatally.
The detectives handling the case said
they are hunting for the suspect over the murder.
Such domestic murder incidents have been
on the rise amid efforts to solve the cases reported so far.
In a different case, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is
appealing for information from the public that may lead to the
arrest of a 28-year-old suspect identified as Wycliffe Otieno Odero in connection
with the brutal murder of his wife and two children on September 27, 2025, in
Yare area of Samburu Central Subcounty.
On that tragic night, the suspect returned to
their rented house on the Maralal–Nyahururu road, where he lived with his wife,
Ann Njeri Atheera, and their daughters, Natalia Nyambura (6) and Tyra Jones (4).
In a fit of rage, he allegedly attacked his wife,
inflicting fatal stab wounds before turning his violent outburst on the two
sleeping children, tragically slitting their throats.
He then fled into the
night and has been evading capture ever since.
Despite ongoing efforts to trail and arrest the
suspect, detectives have been unsuccessful thus far. Police want the public
to help in arresting the suspect.
Elsewhere in Kilgoris, Narok County, a body was found lying along Olalui Road after suspected murder.
The deceased was a
casual labourer identified as David Ogega, 65, and had visible injuries on the
face, head and left hand suspected to have been inflicted by a blunt object.
Police said blood was oozing from the mouth and nose, and there was a sign of struggle at the scene.
However, no murder weapon was recovered and the motive of the murder is yet to be established.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said adding a hunt on the killers is ongoing.
