President William Ruto on Wednesday night hosted at least four heads of state and other dignitaries for dinner at State House, Nairobi, ahead of their summit.
The dinner came ahead of their scheduled 24th COMESA Summit of Heads of State, which will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
The Summit is held under the theme: ‘Leveraging digitalization to deepen Regional Value Chains for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth’.
The leaders included Presidents Azali Assoumani (Comoros) and Emmerson Mnangagwa (Zimbabwe), Prime Ministers Russell Mmiso Dlamini (Eswatini), and Mustafa Madbouly (Egypt).
Others were African Union Commission Chair Mahmoud Youssouf and Comesa Secretary-General Chileshe Mpundu Kapwepwe.

During the Summit, the leaders will deliberate on the need to drive change to shape the next phase of Africa’s transformation through digital technology, as they mark 30 years of COMESA.
"We celebrate 30 years of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), a transformative regional bloc that has powered integration across our region.
“We take pride in our journey of resilience and partnership, which has expanded markets, created opportunities, and strengthened our unity in confronting challenges,” Ruto said.
The Comesa Summit of Heads of State was preceded by COMESA Business Forum on October 7 and the Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs on October 8, 2025, at the same venue.
