Former workers of the Global Fund Tuberculosis (TB) program on Wednesday, October 8, staged a protest outside the Ministry of Health headquarters, Afya House, in Nairobi.
The group decried what they termed unfair employment terms and delays in their transition into the civil service despite years of dedicated service under the donor-funded initiative.
During the protest, emotions ran high as some of the workers shared their frustrations over the uncertainty surrounding their future.
Among them was Patricia Mutiso, who broke down in tears while addressing the press, pleading with the government to honour its commitment and absorb them into the public health system.
