

A man was dramatically lynched by a mob moments after he had
been linked to the murder of his mother in a village in Samia, Busia County.
The deceased woman was identified as Rosalia Auma Obonyo,
89, while her son, who was lynched by a mob, was identified as Ernest Mudivo,
69.
The body of the woman was found outside her house by locals,
who mobilized and pursued Mudivo moments later on Monday.
Mudivo was stoned to death a few meters away from where the
body of his mother lay, police said.
The motive of the murder was not immediately established.
The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other
investigations.
Police discouraged mob lynching and urged residents to
surrender suspects to authorities for processing and possible prosecution.
Cases of mob lynching have been on the rise, despite ongoing efforts to address
the trend.
Elsewhere in Wagai, Siaya County, the naked body of Evans
Kibet, 21, was found lying next to a tree after a suspected murder.
The body was covered with branches of a tree. Police said they
are investigating the killing of the man.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. No
arrest had been made in connection with the murder, police said.
And detectives are investigating an incident where a man
died in a fire in the Malili area, Salama, Makueni County.
The fire broke out in a house near Cool Breeze Restaurant in
the town center.
The victim was in an iron-sheet house when the fire broke out
and killed him, police said.
Police said they were unable to identify the remains of the
man immediately.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification
and autopsy. The cause of the fire was not known, police said, adding that investigations
had been opened.
In Imenti, Meru County’s Kathwene village, a woman was
killed by her husband in a domestic fight.
The body of Peninna Gakii, 40, was found in her bedroom long
after she had been killed.
Police said the body had severe injuries believed to have been
inflicted by a blunt object.
Blood was oozing from her mouth and nostrils when the body
was discovered, police said.
Police said they arrested a man believed to be her husband
over the murder and recovered a wooden stick that was allegedly used in the
attack.
The team that visited the scene linked the killing to a
domestic quarrel as they moved the body to the mortuary pending other
procedures.
In Luanda, Vihiga County’s Emayoka village, the body of a
man was found at a private compound after a suspected murder.
Police identified the deceased as Patrick Sichenga Omufuoko,
50.
He is believed to have been hit by a blunt object on the
head, leading to his death, police said.
The motive of the murder was not immediately established.
The body was picked up by the local mortuary pending an
autopsy and investigations following the October 6, 2025, incident, police
said.
