Men on motorcycle stab to death motorist in Kisumu

Police are investigating an incident where a motorist was stabbed to death in a shocking incident on the road in Koranda village, Dago area, Kisumu County.

The motive behind the fatal stabbing of Silas Onyango Mogo, 30, is yet to be known, police said.

According to the police, the victim was seated in a car that was being driven by his wife on October 1, 2025 evening in the area where the incident happened.

His wife is said to have told police that she was the one driving home when a motorcycle with a rider and two pillion passengers blocked their way.

The two passengers jumped off and dashed to the co-driver’s seat, where the man was seated, and stabbed him in the head.

They then pulled him out of the car and continued to stab him.

He died on the spot as the woman abandoned the car on the road and fled on foot for what she said was her safety.

Police who visited the scene and the body had multiple injuries in the head, neck, chest, stomach, and both arms.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.

The police said the rider and his passengers escaped the scene soon after the mission was accomplished.

A hunt for the attackers to bring them to book is ongoing, police said.

The incident left many locals shocked and worried about their safety, even as police said they were pursuing the gang for justice.

Cases of people being attacked while on the road have been on the rise in the recent times.

Former Kasipul MP Ong'ondo Were was a victim of such an attack after gunmen raided him while heading home and shot him dead.

These attacks have seen Kenyans demanding more from law enforcement officers to guarantee motorists' safety.

Elsewhere in Macalder, Migori County, a Tanzanian national was killed by his fellow Tanzanians in an altercation at a mining site.

Police said the incident happened in the Nyalifa area, where a group of miners live and work.

The body of the victim was found lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds after his attack.

The police said the victim was attacked by a panga following a confrontation with his two fellow Tanzanians on Thursday night.

The cause of the argument that turned fatal was not immediately known.

The body of the victim was picked up from the scene and taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Police said the assailants escaped the scene, and efforts to trace them were ongoing.

The attackers are believed to have escaped to their neighboring country, and efforts to get them back were ongoing.
