Police in Kisii County are holding a man accused of brutally
beating his wife to death after a domestic quarrel triggered by jealousy.
The man allegedly assaulted his 30-year-old wife overnight
on Wednesday, October 2, 2025, in Nyamache, following claims that he had seen
her speaking to another man at a nearby shopping centre.
According to police reports, the couple had spent the
evening at the centre before heading home, where a heated argument broke out.
The suspect told officers that the altercation became
physical, but claimed they later went to bed after resolving the issue.
However, when he woke up the following morning, he found his
wife lying motionless.
Neighbours who heard commotion during the night said they
were shocked by the news, describing the woman as quiet and friendly.
Police officers who
arrived at the scene found the victim’s body on the bed with visible injuries.
The suspect was immediately arrested, and the body was moved to
Nyamache Sub-County Hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
Detectives have launched investigations to establish the
extent of the assault and whether the suspect will face murder or manslaughter
charges.
In a separate incident in Gongoni, Kilifi County, police
recovered the decomposed body of a 75-year-old woman, identified as Kasichana
Kahindi Ngoka, who had been missing for nearly two weeks.
Ngoka was last seen on September 22, and her remains were
discovered in a ditch in the Kisimani area on October 2.
Authorities believe the elderly woman was murdered before
her body was dumped in the remote location.
“The body was badly decomposed, suggesting she may have been
dead for several days,” said a police officer familiar with the case.
The remains were taken to Malindi Sub-County Hospital
mortuary as investigations into the motive of her killing continue.
Meanwhile, three men have been arrested in connection with
the gruesome murder of a man found dead at the Mama Ngina Waterfront in
Mombasa.
The victim, identified only as Njoroge, was discovered naked
with a polythene bag wrapped around his head and his limbs tied.
Police said preliminary findings suggest he was strangled
before being dumped at the seafront.
The suspects are being detained as detectives piece together
the motive behind the killing.
Elsewhere, in Thambiro, Meru County, a tree trimmer
identified as Mutembei Muthoi died after falling while pruning branches.
Police said Muthoi suffered broken legs and hands and severe
facial injuries.
Despite efforts by residents to rush him to hospital, he was
pronounced dead on arrival.
The bodies from the four incidents have been taken to
various mortuaries as police investigations continue across the counties of
Kisii, Kilifi, Mombasa, and Meru.
