The Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) has appointed Linda Bach as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 16, 2025.
Bach, who has been serving as the Council Member for Print Media, brings extensive experience and expertise to the leadership of the guild.
In a statement to members, KEG President Zubeidah Kananu said the Executive Council is confident that Bach’s leadership will “drive the organisation forward.”
Her appointment marks a new chapter for the guild, which promotes media freedom, credibility, and professionalism in Kenya.
Following her appointment, Bach will step down from her current role in the Executive Council.
As stipulated in Article VI, Clause 6 of the KEG constitution, the council has appointed Andy Kagwa of Standard Group to replace her as Council Member for Print Media.
Additionally, Millicent Awuor has been named Chairperson of the Programmes Committee, a role previously held by Bach.
Kananu also expressed gratitude to outgoing CEO Rosalia Omungo, who has led KEG for the past eight years.
“We sincerely thank Rosalia for her sterling role in steering KEG and wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” she said.
The guild hailed Omungo’s leadership as instrumental in strengthening KEG’s institutional capacity and influence in advancing press freedom. Members have been invited to join in welcoming Bach as she assumes her new role.
With Bach at the helm, KEG looks forward to expanding its work in defending editorial independence and enhancing the professional standards of journalism in Kenya.
Her leadership is expected to further position the guild as a key player in shaping the future of media in the country.
