The Ministry of Health has continued its strategic county-to-county engagements, this time bringing its transformative health agenda to Nyandarua County.

This initiative marks yet another significant milestone in the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare systems across the country and ensure equitable access to quality services.

The visit, led by Health CS Aden Duale, is part of a broader strategy to implement a comprehensive approach to healthcare reforms.

Central to this strategy is the integration of community-based health systems and the deployment of the Digital Health Superhighway, a key innovation aimed at modernising service delivery in the public health sector.

By combining digital solutions with grassroots healthcare strategies, the Ministry seeks to enhance efficiency, improve transparency, and promote accountability throughout the health system.

This dual approach is essential in ensuring that services reach even the most remote areas of the country while maintaining high standards of care and responsiveness.

During the engagement in Nyandarua, Ministry officials held discussions with local stakeholders, healthcare workers, and members of the public.

A major focus of these engagements was to raise awareness about the Social Health Authority (SHA), a newly established institution designed to manage and streamline access to healthcare services under the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) framework.

The SHA represents a fundamental shift in how health services are delivered and financed in Kenya.

By reducing the financial burden on citizens and ensuring that essential healthcare is accessible to all, the SHA underscores the government’s commitment to inclusive health reforms.

These reform-oriented efforts are not only aligned with Kenya’s national development priorities but also contribute directly to the achievement of global health targets, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By positioning health as a central pillar of its development strategy, the government is laying a sustainable foundation for long-term social and economic growth.
