The Ministry of Labour has announced 8,972 overseas job opportunities for Kenyan citizens under its ongoing labour migration programme.
The Ministry, in collaboration with accredited recruitment agencies, will be facilitating the recruitment process for jobs in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Serbia.
Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary, Alfred Mutua, announced the overseas job opportunities on his official X page, highlighting the government’s commitment to creating employment for Kenyans abroad.
These job openings span several sectors. In healthcare, available positions include house nurses, nurse maids, general nurses, and caregivers.
The construction sector is seeking construction helpers, steel fixers, shuttering carpenters, masons, scaffolders, electricians, plumbers, welders, and general labourers.
In hospitality and service, opportunities include waiters, waitresses, baristas, kitchen helpers, stewards, chefs, pastry chefs, room attendants, cleaners, beauticians, and hairdressers.
There are also openings for drivers, including heavy and light vehicle drivers, motorcycle riders, family and house drivers, dump truck drivers, and airport drivers.
Higher-level vacancies in Oman include HR managers, IT technicians, mechanical and electrical engineers, sales and executive staff, teachers, accountants, and editors.
Additional job categories include factory workers, security guards, porters, and lifeguards.
Applicants must meet specific requirements.
These include being between 21 and 45 years old, depending on the job category, holding a valid passport with at least two years before expiry or proof of application, having relevant training or experience, being medically fit, and being able to communicate effectively in English.
The jobs come with competitive salaries. In many cases, employers will provide accommodation, transport, and medical cover.
Applicants will also receive support throughout the recruitment process from officials at the Ministry of Labour and relevant recruitment agencies.
Job interviews are scheduled to take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at selected TVET institutions.
Dates and locations are as follows: Vihiga on September 19, Kakamega on September 20, Busia on September 22, and Bungoma on September 23, 2025.
Applicants must bring their national ID, academic and professional certificates, passport or proof of application, recent passport-sized photos, and any relevant work documentation.
The government continues to enhance bilateral agreements with foreign countries to expand employment opportunities, promote ethical recruitment, and protect the rights and welfare of Kenyan migrant workers.
