The deceased, identified as Owen Kiptoo, 25, is said to have died instantly after the fall.

He was reportedly in the company of a woman at her house when the incident happened.

The woman, along with two other people, was detained for questioning over the death. According to reports, the group had been at a bar in the area before Kiptoo left with the owner of the house.

The house owner claimed she could not locate her key, prompting Kiptoo to attempt access via the kitchen door, where he reportedly fell.

Police who visited the house described it as being in disarray. Detectives said they are investigating the incident as a potential murder and want to establish whether Kiptoo fell following a fight.

The body was moved to the morgue pending an autopsy and further investigations.

In a separate incident, a 22-year-old man died after being hit on the head by a falling log at a house under construction in Nairobi’s Kileleshwa area.

Authorities note that such accidents at construction sites have been on the rise, prompting calls for enhanced safety measures. Police, alongside county officials and personnel from the National Construction Authority, continue to investigate all the incidents to establish causes and prevent further occurrences.
