KRA announces key changes in leadership

The Kenya Revenue Authority has announced key executive appointments aimed at strengthening its leadership and improving service delivery.

The appointments, effective from September 11, 2025, are part of ongoing reforms to align the authority with its strategic vision and enhance efficiency in revenue collection.

KRA Board and Management confirmed the appointment of Nancy Ngetich as the Commissioner for Shared Services Department.

Ng'etich has been holding the position in an acting capacity since February 2023.

"She has overseen organisational reforms, HR's alignment with KRA’s 9th Corporate Plan, and promoted technology adoption to support revenue mobilisation," KRA said in a statement on Thursday.

She served as the Deputy Commissioner, Policy and International Affairs in the Customs and Border Control Department at KRA and as Senior Manager, Customs and Tax Advisory at Ernst & Young LLP.

She is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya

The authority has also announced leadership changes in the Large and Medium Taxpayers Department.

In the changes, Rispah Simiyu has been seconded to the National Treasury & Economic Planning.

"Doreen Mbingi, Deputy Commissioner, Compliance, East and South Nairobi, has been appointed to provide leadership for the Large & Medium Taxpayers Department in an acting capacity, pending substantive appointment," the authority announced.

"The Authority congratulates Ngetich and Mbingi on their appointments and urges all taxpayers and stakeholders to continue extending their support and collaboration."

KRA reiterated the commitment to fulfil its mandate of revenue mobilisation for national development, while delivering efficient, fair and transparent services to all taxpayers across the country.

The appointments reflect KRA’s dedication to maintaining leadership stability, institutional accountability, and effective service to taxpayers.

As part of the Authority’s culture of reform and innovation, these leadership changes are expected to enhance organisational performance and public trust.
