
Police are investigating an incident where a grade nine pupil died after being assaulted at a boarding school in Narok Town.
The incident happened at the Narok SDA School and involved a 14-year-old
boy, police said.
Officials closed the school on Monday to facilitate the ongoing probe. A team
of detectives revisited the scene on Tuesday as part of the probe into the death.
The boy was found bleeding with a deep cut on the neck on Sunday, August
31, 2025, in the morning and rushed to Narok Referral Hospital in critical
condition, where he succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment.
Police said they established that the boy was found by his fellow dormitory
mates lying on his bed, seriously injured, and there was smeared blood on one of
the benches outside the dormitory.
Police said there was blood in the boys’ toilet and drops of blood in the
clothes line area.
A watchman on duty was detained for grilling as the word on the death
spread. Police said they are investigating a murder incident in the saga.
An angry surrounding community and some parents stormed the school after an unknown person set one dormitory on fire.
The fire was contained.
Tension rose in the school with parents demanding answers to the murder.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Elsewhere, mystery surrounds the fatal shooting of a motorcycle rider whose body was
found on the roadside along Saru-Sabarei Road in Dukana, Marsabit County.
Police said the incident happened on Sunday in the Tarbe Sora Gira area and
involved one Yattani Jora, 37.
The motive of the attack was not immediately established.
The body had
multiple bullet wounds in the head, hand, back and thigh.
When police arrived at the scene hours later, because it happened almost
20 kilometres away from the nearest police station, they found the man still in
his helmet and the sheep he was carrying still tied to the motorcycle.
Police said nothing was stolen from the deceased man, and the body was
moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Elsewhere in Hindi, Lamu County, a man died after he was hit by a stone
on the head.
Police said Abdi Khalif Adow, 65, was fatally hit in the head by a suspect
who was arrested hours later. This followed an altercation near a mosque in the
area.
It is not clear what prompted the attack.
The suspect was rescued by police from a mob that wanted to lynch him and taken into custody for further questioning ahead of a planned arraignment.
