Police said Milton Abednego, 70, had a confrontation with his 39-year-old son over a bunch of Sukuma Wiki he had plucked from a nearby land, leading to the fatal hit.
The son is said to have gone to a nearby piece of land and plucked a bunch of Sukuma Wiki, which the old man had planted.
This angered him, and he confronted the son, who retaliated by hitting him with a panga on the head.
He bled to death, police said.
The son escaped
the scene but was tracked down by an angry mob that caught up with him.
The mob stoned
him to death, police said.
The panga that
was used in the attack was recovered, police said as they moved the bodies to the
mortuary pending autopsy.
Police discourage
mob lynching and want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing.
Elsewhere, a 13-year-old
boy was murdered and his body dumped on the roadside in Tumoyot village, Narok.
Police said the body was discovered on Tuesday, August 5, long after the boy had been killed.
The
police suspect the boy was killed elsewhere and the body was dumped at the scene.
The body had strangling marks on his neck.
The motive is yet to be established, police said on
Wednesday.
Police said a
suspect who was last seen with the victim was arrested for grilling.

was killed by his uncle in a family dispute.

The couple was
rushed to the hospital, where they are nursing serous wounds, police said.

And a woman
aged 80 collapsed and died as she carried a heap of firewood she had collected
from a thicket in Kithini village, Mukaa, Makueni County.
