
Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Saturday joined the Namwamba family in laying to rest their matriarch, Mama Agatha Maina Namwamba in Busia County.
Mama Agatha, fondly known as Naineki Nyambura Grade One, was the mother of former Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba and the pillar of the Namwamba family.
Speaking during the burial, Matiang’i extended his condolences to the family, describing the late Mama Agatha as a woman who embodied love, discipline, and etiquette.
He praised her for raising a close-knit family and leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
“Mama Agatha lived a life marked by dignity and grace. Her values are evident in the strong family she nurtured,” Matiang’i said.
Relatives, friends, and leaders joined the Namwamba family to celebrate the life of Mama Agatha, who was remembered as a matriarch whose guidance and warmth touched many beyond her immediate family.
The funeral brought together mourners from across the country, reflecting the wide impact of her life and the esteem in which the family is held.
