Fire breaks out in Tassia area, Nairobi

A fire has broken out at Tassia Estate in Nairobi County.

The Kenya Red Cross has confirmed the incident, stating that they have dispatched a team to the scene.

"A fire has been reported at Tassia Estate in Nairobi County. Response teams are currently on their way to the scene," the Kenya Red Cross said in a statement on X.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino said the flames spread rapidly due to tightly packed dwellings, displacing scores of vulnerable residents.

“We are deeply saddened to report a devastating fire that has swept through Tassia, Embakasi East, destroying many homes in the area and leaving families with nothing,” he said.

“Many have lost not only their homes but also their belongings, memories, and sources of livelihood. May God protect my people.”
