9 candidates shortlisted for SRC member's post

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has shortlisted nine candidates for interviews to fill the position of member of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

 The exercise is set for Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Commission’s headquarters on Harambee Avenue, Nairobi.

The shortlisted individuals include Michael Thoyah Kingi (Kilifi), Mary Yiane Seneta (Kajiado), Abdul Bahari Ali (Isiolo), Richard Chacha Boke (Migori), Zuleikha Juma Hassan (Mombasa), Kosiom Frank Kibelekenya (Narok), Abubakar Ketemon Lewano (Marsabit), Susan Chepkisur Chongo Nakoru (Baringo), and Teresiah Jerusah Michael (Kitui).

PSC said the interviews will run from 8:30 am to 2pm with candidates required to present themselves at least 20 minutes before their scheduled time. 

They must carry original identification, academic and professional certificates, police clearance, tax compliance, HELB, CRB, and EACC certificates, as well as professional recommendations where applicable.

In line with constitutional requirements, PSC also invited the public to submit credible information regarding the suitability of the candidates. 

Such information should be provided through affidavits emailed to [email protected] or delivered physically to the Secretary/CEO’s office by Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

PSC emphasised that this process is guided by Article 230(2)(b)(ii) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and Section 7(1) of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission Act, 2011, which empower the Commission to nominate a representative to SRC.

The SRC is mandated to set and regularly review the remuneration and benefits of all state officers and advise on the compensation of other public officers.

The Commission described the recruitment as part of its ongoing commitment to deliver a citizen-centric, accountable, and transparent public service in line with its Vision 2030 goals.
