The Communications Authority of Kenya is inviting applications from university and college students for a three-month student attachment across 17 departments.
The regulator, which oversees Kenya’s ICT sector, said the attachments are designed to give students hands-on experience in a dynamic regulatory environment while working alongside seasoned professionals.
Students can apply for placements in Human Resources and Administration, Corporate Communications, Finance and Accounts, Supply Chain Management, and Frequency and Spectrum Management.
Other available departments include Compliance Enforcement; Monitoring, Inspection and Regional Coordination; Postal and Telecom Licensing; Information Technology; Cyber Security; Consumer Protection and Advocacy; and Public Education and Awareness.
The authority is also offering opportunities in Standard and Type Approval, the Universal Service Fund, Research, Planning and Quality Management, Competition Management and Legal Services.
Eligible applicants must be ongoing students in recognised universities, with areas of study aligned to the department applied for.
In addition, they must demonstrate a strong interest in gaining practical experience.
“Successful candidates will gain exposure in a leading regulatory authority, enhance their skills in real-world settings and contribute to the development of Kenya’s information and communications sector,” the Authority said in the notice.
Applications must be submitted online through the link http://bit.ly/3Jgry3v by August 25, 2025, at 5pm.
Applicants are required to attach a one-page CV, a cover letter specifying their preferred department, and a letter from their institution confirming current enrolment and support for the attachment.
The authority emphasised that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and any canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
Persons with disabilities and those from marginalised communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
The CA is mandated to regulate telecommunications, broadcasting, multimedia, postal and courier services in Kenya.
It also manages the country’s frequency spectrum, numbering resources, and the Universal Service Fund, while safeguarding consumer interests in the ICT sector.
