Boniface “Bonnie” Kamau, the  SportPesa Mega Jackpot winner, has revealed just how modest his winning ticket was.

Speaking on Wednesday, he said he placed a bet of only Sh500 to predict the outcomes of 17 football matches correctly.

He placed the bet on March 3, 2025.

“I used Sh500. Mia tano. Magana matano,” he shared with a calm confidence.

“It was not luck. I analyse these things.”

He won Sh424,660,718, a SportPesa Mega Jackpot, the fourth in Kenya's history and the first since 2018.

Kamau, a resident of Ol-Kalou and a self-employed businessman, said he relies on a specific cyber analysis method when placing his bets.

He acknowledged that not every wager succeeds, saying on one occasion, of three bets he placed, two did not pay off.

Nevertheless, his decade-long dedication to betting paid off handsomely when he clinched the jackpot.

Reflecting on his journey, he shared that over ten years, he has seen smaller wins, among them a jackpot of Sh171,000.

Looking back, Kamau said that a small Sh500 stake has transformed into the largest single payout in SportPesa’s history.

Kamau credited his win to careful planning and a commitment to responsible betting.

Kamau urged gamblers to bet responsibly, placing them after catering to their basic needs.

He also advocated for waging considerably less amounts like Sh100 and Sh200.

He urged others not to treat gambling as a livelihood but as a game of chance.

Following his victory, SportPesa reset the Mega Jackpot to Sh100 million, the first reset since 2018.
