President William Ruto on Wednesday chaired the presidential private sector roundtable in Nairobi County

During the roundtable, Ruto noted that the partnership between the government and the private sector remains central to Kenya’s social and economic transformation

‘’We have convened here this morning to reaffirm, renew, and advance the transformative partnership between the government and the private sector," noted Ruto

‘’This is a partnership that remains central to Kenya’s socio-economic transformation and sustainable national development,’’ he added

Ruto added that the private sector anchors core value chains, including agriculture, which employs over 40% of Kenyans, ICT and financial services, in which Kenya leads in innovation, and tourism, where accommodation and food services grew by 26.6% in Quarter 2 of 2024, a powerful indicator of economic rebound.

At the same event, Ruto also defended the Hustler Fund, saying that he takes pride in its success.

‘’I take pride in the success of the Hustler Fund, under the Financial Inclusion Fund, a pioneering empowerment initiative," he said

According to Ruto, the Hustler Fund has disbursed over Sh72 billion to 26 million Kenyans, mobilised over Sh5 billion in savings, and provided vital working capital to millions of micro-entrepreneurs, proving that even the smallest businesses can thrive with the right support.
