

President William Ruto and his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta were on Friday reunited for a peace meeting.
The two shared a platform at State House, Nairobi, during a joint East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) co-chairs meeting with the panel of facilitators overseeing the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) peace process.
The two were last seen together on December 9, 2024 meeting in Ichaweri, Gatundu, when Ruto paid Uhuru a courtesy call.
The former President also met briefly with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
Zimbabwe President Emerson Mnangagwa, who chairs SADC, also attended the closed-door meeting.
Also present are AU Commission Chairperson Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, former Presidents Catherine Samba-Panza (Central African Republic), Sahle-Work Zewde (Ethiopia) and Mokgweetsi Eric Kabetswe Masisi (Botswana).
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo will take part in the meeting virtually.
