President William Ruto on Thursday met officials of the Anglican Diocese of Nairobi at State House.
The officials were led by Bishop Jonathan Kabiru, who is the 3rd Bishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Diocese of Nairobi.
In his remarks, Ruto vowed to work with religious leaders to strengthen the moral, social fabric, health, and education.
“We are working closely with religious leaders to strengthen our moral and social fabric, delivery of universal health coverage and quality education for all,” Ruto said in a statement on X.
The President noted that the transformation of the nation requires a whole-of-society approach.
“Every sector, including religious institutions, has a vital role to play in addressing the challenges in our country,” he said.
On July 16, 2025, Ruto hosted a delegation of bishops, pastors, and evangelists from the Federation of Evangelical and Indigenous Christian Churches of Kenya (FEICCK) at the State House.
During the meeting, the President urged religious leaders to refrain from actions or rhetoric that could incite the youth, especially in the current climate of growing public discontent.
“Leaders must resist the urge to incite the youth. Instead, we must work together to find lasting solutions to the challenge of unemployment,” Ruto said.
The President has regularly held consultations with religious groups since taking office, and has reiterated the church’s role as a key partner in nation-building and moral guidance.
