Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is expected in the country for a one-day official visit.

Museveni will address the nation with his host, President William Ruto, at State House, Nairobi, at 10 am.

The two leaders are expected to address wide-ranging matters affecting bilateral relations, especially cross-border cooperation and regional security.

The visit comes a day after Museveni met and held discussions with the High Commissioner of Kenya to Uganda, Joash Maangi, at State House, Entebbe.

During their meeting, Museveni and Maangi acknowledged the long-standing cordial ties between Uganda and Kenya, while also confronting recurring challenges related to the shared border.

EACC to host Treasury CS John Mbadi for high-level talks on anti-corruption strategies

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) will host the National Treasury, led by Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, for a high-level engagement on the state of corruption in Kenya and strategies to combat the vice.

The meeting will take place from 11:00 am at the Integrity Centre, Nairobi.

Key speakers are Mbadi, EACC chairperson Dr. David Oginde and commission chief executive officer Abdi Mohamud.

Kenya's corruption levels are perceived as high, though there have been some improvements in recent years.

In 2024, Kenya scored 32 out of 100 on Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index, ranking 121st out of 180 countries. This indicates a significant problem with public sector corruption.

MPs to discuss tobacco graphic warnings with Health CS Aden Duale

Committee on Delegated Legislation will meet with Health CS Aden Duale to consider graphic health warnings for tobacco products at 11 am, Bunge Towers

The Ministry of Health has gazetted the third batch of Graphic Health Warnings (GHWs) under the Tobacco Control Act, reaffirming the commitment to tobacco control and public health protection.

The warnings, which feature approved pictures and pictograms, will be required on all tobacco product packaging.

These new regulations will come into effect nine months from the date of publication, June 13, 2025.

The intervention aims to increase public awareness of the serious health risks associated with tobacco use, deter tobacco consumption, particularly among the youth, and protect non-smokers and other vulnerable populations from the harms of second-hand smoke.

FKF to host open media session with Harambee Stars ahead of 2024 CHAN

The Football Kenya Federation is to hold an open media session with the Harambee Stars as the team finalises its preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The meeting will be held at Police Sacco Stadium at 3.30 pm. Coach Benni McCarthy and players will respond to questions from the media.

The 2024 TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) is set to be a landmark football event, taking place from August 2-30, 2025.

This edition will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, marking the first time the tournament is held across three nations.

CS Salim Mvurya to lead inspection of preparations for 2024 PamojaCHAN

The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, the Creative Economy, and Sports, Salim Mvurya, will undertake an inspection tour to assess the country's final readiness to host the 2024 PamojaCHAN.

Principal Secretary, State Department for Sports, Elijah Mwangi, and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2024 Total Energies African Nations Championship (CHAN) will accompany Mvurya.

The team will kick off the tour at 9.30 am and they will visit Moi International Sports Centre (Kasarani), the Nyayo National Stadium and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
