A 16-year-old boy was Sunday arrested on claims he murdered his mother for refusing to tell him who his biological father is in Molo, Nakuru County.
Police said the
incident happened at their residential house in the Nyakiambi area.
The two have been living in the area. Police termed the incident bizarre, adding they are investigating it.
The victim’s brother had on Sunday told police
that his sister had been murdered inside her house.
Police responded to the scene, where they found the middle-aged woman lying dead. A Form Three dropout, who is the son of the woman who confessed to killing his mother, police said after interrogating him.
It is reported that on Friday July 25, at around
1300 hours, the minor demanded to know his biological father.
This led to an
altercation after his mother refused to disclose the needed information.
It is reported that the
boy hit her head several times, killing her instantly.
On Saturday, July 26,
the minor dug a shallow grave within an adjacent house in the compound and was
planning to bury the body Sunday morning.
It was then that the police
arrived at the scene.
Police arrested the minor on Sunday, and the
deceased’s body was taken to Elburgon Level Four hospital morgue for
preservation and autopsy.
Police said they are
investigating a murder in the saga.
Meanwhile, police are
investigating an incident where the body of a man was found in a river after a suspected drowning in Meru County.
A pedestrian spotted the body
floating in the river Riji before alerting police.
Police officers visited the
scene where the body of one, Kenneth Gitonga, 39, was found floating on the
river.
The body had been eaten by
crabs at the lips, ears, and around the eyes.
There was an injury on the
right side of the face that seemed to have been inflicted by a sharp object.
The body was moved to Meru
Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, awaiting autopsy.
Police suspect the man either drowned there accidentally or was murdered and the body dumped there.
