Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has dismissed mounting criticism from the opposition, describing it as “empty rhetoric” aimed at distracting the government from delivering on its promises.

Speaking in Tharaka Nithi during the Jukwaa la Usalama tour, Mudavadi maintained that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains focused on long-term national transformation.

He said some leaders were misleading Kenyans by claiming that the government was panicking ahead of the 2027 General Election.

“Nataka watu wajue kwamba serikali ya Kenya na Wakenya tuko imara. President wetu ni William Ruto, Deputy wake ni Prof. Kithure Kindiki, na Prime Cabinet Secretary ni Musalia Mudavadi. Hatutishwi na uchaguzi,” he said.

Mudavadi warned leaders against making statements that cast doubt on the credibility of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and its newly appointed commissioners.

He praised the National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs Committee, chaired by Tharaka MP George Murugara, for overseeing a transparent vetting process.

“Hon. Murugara’s leadership in Parliament has helped to achieve a very important mission for the people of Kenya,” said Mudavadi.

He said the successful formation of the new electoral commission was a key step following the NADCO process and a series of court cases.

“The institution that is guaranteed to ensure we have a free and fair election is in place,” he said.

Addressing residents at the launch of the Tharaka Boda Boda Sacco Economic Empowerment Programmes, Mudavadi said the Kenya Kwanza administration continues to implement the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) as outlined in its manifesto.

He criticised what he called the “enemies of progress” who have no agenda for the country.

Mudavadi cited Article 43 of the Constitution as the government’s guiding framework for delivering essential services to Kenyans.

“Article 43 addresses the right to the highest attainable standard of health, including reproductive health care, accessible and adequate housing, freedom from hunger, clean and safe water, social security, and education,” he said.

He defended President Ruto’s commitment to the affordable housing programme, noting that previous governments had avoided taking bold steps to implement it.

“President Ruto has taken the difficult decisions. He is not making the decision just for the sake of it, but because the Constitution demands so and because Kenyans deserve decent housing,” said Mudavadi.

On health care, he acknowledged existing challenges and urged Kenyans to support government efforts.

“What we want is health for all Kenyans,” he said.

Mudavadi praised Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s professionalism and urged Tharaka Nithi residents to support him and the government.

“You have a focused leader. Tusaidiane na yeye tujenge taifa,” he said.
