KEMSA, a State Corporation established through an Act of
Parliament, is mandated to procure, warehouse and distribute drugs and medical
supplies for prescribed public health programs, the national strategic stock
reserve, essential health packages and national referral hospitals.
The vacancies, classified under reference number KEMSA/HRA/DRVR/ADM/7/2025,
are open to applicants willing to serve in various KEMSA operational bases
across the country.
The selected drivers will report to the Transport Officer
and be responsible for transporting KEMSA staff, stakeholders and medical
commodities as assigned.
KEMSA outlined that successful candidates will also be
responsible for maintaining the vehicles, adhering to assigned routes, promptly
reporting any faults, updating mileage logs and ensuring the safety of
passengers, goods and the vehicles both on and off the road.
"We are
looking for disciplined and flexible individuals who can manage time
effectively while upholding the highest standards of road safety and
accountability," KEMSA noted.
The position is on contract terms and falls under job grade
SA10.
According to the notice issued by the authority, the
recruitment aims to align the role with the approved career guidelines and
ensure only qualified and competent drivers are engaged.
To qualify, applicants must have a minimum KCSE grade of D
plain, a valid BCE driving license free of endorsements, at least three years
of hands-on driving experience, and a trade test certificate (Grade III).
Additional certifications in defensive driving, first aid or occupational
safety will offer a competitive advantage.
KEMSA clarified that individuals who had applied and
qualified under the earlier advert for the same position will automatically be
considered in the current recruitment process.
"Applicants
who previously applied and met the requirements under the earlier reference
will not need to reapply," KEMSA stated.
"Their
applications remain valid and will be reviewed alongside the new
submissions."
The deadline for application is July 25, 2025.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit police
clearance and tax compliance certificates in line with Chapter Six of the
Constitution.
Successful candidates may be deployed to Nairobi, Kisumu,
Mombasa, Garissa, Meru, Nyeri, Kakamega, Kisii, Eldoret or Nakuru, depending on
organizational needs.
