
Police in Eldoret
have arrested a school headteacher over allegations of sexually defiling four
male pupils at a school in Uasin Gishu County.
Turbo Sub-County Police Commander Patrick Wekesa confirmed the arrest, saying the suspect was apprehended at Hill School, a private institution, immediately after officiating netball games on Sunday.
The suspect is accused of defiling four boys from a public School in Uasin Gishu County.
“We are holding him for
investigations to establish the truth,” said Wekesa.
He added that both the suspect and
the victims were taken for medical examination, a standard procedure in such
cases.
“The offence is serious and
requires medical reports before the next action is taken,” he said.
The arrest follows complaints made by parents and the affected children.
The case was recorded under Occurrence
Book (OB) number 31/14/7/2025 at Baharini Police Station.
The victims include a 15-year-old in Grade 8, a 14-year-old in Grade 7, another 15-year-old in Grade 9, and a 16-year-old also in Grade 9.
The alleged offences are said to
have occurred on multiple occasions between December 2024 and February 2025.
Wekesa said the arrest was
conducted by the Officer in Charge of Crime, in coordination with the Assistant
Chief of Kiplombe Location.
“The DCI is now handling the
matter. Our officers are recording statements from the victims and collecting
relevant evidence,” said Wekesa.
The four pupils are expected to
undergo further medical tests at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. The
suspect will also undergo a medical examination as part of the ongoing
investigation.
“We have already dispatched
officers to thoroughly investigate the matter so that the necessary legal
action is taken,” Wekesa stated.
Police are expected to present
the suspect in court to seek more time for holding him as investigations
continue.
