Detectives are probing a string of murder cases reported in various parts of the country over the weekend, as violent killings continue to raise alarm among security agencies.

In Nairobi’s Dandora area, the body of a 40-year-old man was found dumped on the doorstep of a residential house.

Police identified the deceased as Richard Odhiambo. His body, discovered on Saturday, July 12, had visible injuries on the nose and right eye, and blood was seen oozing from his mouth.

A man who was last seen with Odhiambo has been arrested to aid in the investigation.

The body was taken to the mortuary for an autopsy as detectives work to establish the motive behind the killing.

In Sinaga, Yala, Siaya County, the body of a 50-year-old woman, Pamela Oketch, was found lying naked in a bush a day after she was last seen attending a funeral.

Police said the body showed injuries on her right leg and left ear. The motive remains unknown, and the body was moved to the morgue for further examination.

Meanwhile, in the Mago area along the Kapsabet-Chakali road in Hamisi, Vihiga County, a 17-year-old boy was discovered dead under unclear circumstances.

His body bore injuries on the legs and hands. Police arrested a suspect and recovered a rope from his house, which may be linked to the incident.

In Sirisia, Bungoma County, a domestic dispute turned deadly after a 60-year-old woman, Jane Nanjala, was attacked by her son.

The suspect allegedly struck his father and sister before hitting Nanjala on the head with a wooden stick. She was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.

The suspect fled and is being sought by police.

Elsewhere, in Magombo village, Nyamira County, a 53-year-old man was found murdered on the morning of July 12.

Gideon Mokaya’s body had multiple stab wounds. A woman who was last seen with him was arrested to assist with investigations. The motive is still unclear.

Police say the killings are part of a worrying trend of rising homicide cases across the country. All bodies were moved to local mortuaries pending autopsies as investigations continue.
