It was a night of song, dance, and cultural pride as former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made a vibrant public appearance at the inaugural “Ngemi Cia Ruraya” Kenyan music festival held at Saghalie Park in Seattle, Washington.
Accompanied by his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, and People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua, Gachagua was met with cheers and warm welcome from members of the Kenyan diaspora.
The festival drew hundreds of attendees eager to reconnect with their cultural roots through music, food, and traditional performances.

Describing the event as “memorable,” Gachagua took to X to reflect on the power of music in uniting people and preserving cultural heritage.
“Music is a powerful messaging medium that, over the years, has been effective and efficient,” he wrote.
“Accompanied by Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, my sister Martha Karua and surrounded by vibrant music and rich cultural heritage, we danced the night away, celebrating our roots and unity.”

The former Deputy President emphasised the importance of cultural exchange in fostering national pride and cohesion.
“Sharing cultural experiences not only embodies humanity but
also reminds Kenyans of who we are as a people with a shared destiny,” he said,
concluding with, “A Kenyan Ever! God bless Kenya!”
Gachagua arrived in the United States on Wednesday night, marking his first international trip since his removal from office in October 2024.
The visit is part of a broader effort to engage with Kenyans living abroad and strengthen ties with international partners and stakeholders.
