The partnership will enhance passenger
experience, operational efficiency, safety, cyber security, and sustainability
across RAC-managed airports.
Under the agreement, Schneider Electric will
offer technical support, maintenance, and consultancy services for electrical
infrastructure, energy management, and automation systems.
RAC Managing Director Charles Habonimana said
the deal aligns with the company’s vision to deliver high-quality, modern
airport services.
“This partnership aims to accelerate digital
transformation, decarbonisation and resilience in Rwanda’s airports,” said
Habonimana.
He noted that the MoU provides a strategic
framework to improve compliance with global aviation standards and adopt
world-class technology solutions.
The agreement also allows both parties to
engage in long-term collaboration through joint maintenance, consultancy, and
system implementation projects.
Schneider Electric Kenya President Ifeanyi
Odoh said the company will deploy its EcoStruxure for Airports platform to
enhance energy efficiency and automation.
“We are ready to support RAC in developing a
Unified Operations Centre (UOC) for centralised airport management,” said Mr.
Odoh.
He added that the partnership will help
deliver Rwanda’s net-zero targets through renewable energy, microgrids, and
energy efficiency measures.
“We’ll introduce AI-driven predictive
maintenance to improve asset lifespan and overall operational durability,” he
said.
Schneider Electric will also provide training,
consulting, and technical support to build capacity and ensure smooth
implementation.
The MOU reflects RAC’s commitment to becoming
a regional aviation hub through smart, sustainable, and secure airport
infrastructure.
RAC is responsible for the management and
development of Rwanda’s airport network, including Kigali International
Airport.
Schneider Electric is a global leader in
energy management and automation, with operations in over 100 countries.

partnership marks a significant step in integrating sustainable and digital
solutions into Rwanda’s aviation systems.
