President William Ruto has issued a stern warning to all leaders involved in sponsoring the recent protests that action will be taken against them.

“We are coming after you, you cannot sponsor violence in the Republic of Kenya and expect to go scot free,” he said.

“Wale wote wamepatikana wameiba na kupora mali ya wananchi na kuchoma biashara ya wengine watachukuliwa hatua ya sheria na watafunga,” he said.

He also warned all those involved in the looting and torching of businesses, including government property, that they will not be spared in the crackdown.

“Wale wote wamepatikana wameiba na kupora mali ya wananchi na kuchoma biashara ya wengine watachukuliwa hatua ya sheria na watafunga,” he said.

He condemned the attacks on police officers and security installations, terming them acts of terrorism and a direct declaration of war.

“We cannot have a nation that is run by terror, that is governed by violence. We cannot, and it will not happen under my watch,” he stated.

Ruto warned that the destruction of property and attacks on businesses must end.

“Hii vita ya kuharibu mali na kuchoma mali ya watu itagoma,” he said — translating to “This war of destroying and burning people’s property must stop.”

The President assured Kenyans that the government will deploy all available means to stabilise the country and restore order.

He emphasised that Kenya would not be held hostage by anarchy and political shortcuts.

“Na kama wako na mpango, tukutane 2027. Watengeneze sera yao tukutane — njia ya mkato hapa katikati hakuna,” meaning “And if they have a plan, let’s meet in 2027. Let them craft their policies — there are no shortcuts in between.”

He further lamented the heavy losses suffered by hardworking business owners, blaming it on politicians who incite chaos instead of offering alternative ideas.

“You can call me names, whatever you want to call me, but I will make sure there is peace and stability in Kenya by all means possible,” he declared.
