President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet has warned
leaders against using tribal politics to undermine development efforts in the
country, saying every region deserves equal growth opportunities.
Speaking during the Economic Empowerment Engagement for
Women Groups SACCOs at Faza in Lamu East Constituency, Lamu County, Farouk said
the government is committed to ensuring fair resource allocation across all
regions.
“Every region deserves a fair share of development. We will not allow tribal leaders to deny other regions' developments,” said Kibet.

He criticised those he termed “perennial rioters,” accusing
them of inciting division and pushing narrow political interests that ignore
the needs of the wider population.
“We are asking those who are perennial rioters to refrain from dividing Kenyans. It is not wrong to traverse every part of the country, but what value are you bringing to the people of the area you are visiting?” he posed.
Kibet maintained that the government will continue to
promote equitable development through initiatives such as women’s economic
empowerment, noting that such programs are already making a difference.
“Today, the women came here with almost no money, but they will go with something to boost their business. We will continue to do that exactly,” he said.

He urged women in the region to take advantage of the
financial support provided to grow their businesses and drive local
development.
“I urge the women of these areas to remain focused, invest
the little money you get in business to build a better Kenya. We bank on you to
drive social empowerment,” he added.
Farouk accompanied Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Hon. Mwengi Mutuse, and other leaders. They joined Lamu East MP Ruweida Mohammed Obo in the empowerment initiative at Faza Island.
Kindiki, on his part, urged Kenyans to embrace dialogue and peaceful means to resolve grievances.

He warned that violence and incitement would only derail the nation’s progress.
The DP stressed that no country can prosper amid chaos and destruction.
"I plead with you, my fellow countrymen, we cannot build this country through chaos, incitement and violence. We must learn to solve our national problems through consultations, discussions and peaceful ways," he said.
Kindiki emphasised that every Kenyan has a right to express themselves and raise concerns, but should do so peacefully.

He warned those planning unrest that such actions are destructive and not a solution to national challenges.
“There’s nothing more precious in a country than peace and stability.”
Kindiki had earlier attended a similar forum in Faza, Lamu East, as part of a week-long empowerment tour across five coastal counties: Tana River, Taita Taveta, Kilifi, Mombasa, and Lamu.

He said the development projects rolled out by the Kenya Kwanza administration are laying a strong foundation for President William Ruto's second term. According to Kindiki, these projects reflect real change, not empty promises.
The team later proceeded to Mkunguni Grounds in Lamu West
Constituency for a similar engagement with women's groups in the area.
