Detectives are investigating to identify the body of a person whose body parts were found dumped separately in a village in Gem, Siaya County.
The hands, legs, and
torso were found dumped separately in Marenyo village after the murder that took
place elsewhere, police said.
According to police, the human hands
were found at Sagam shopping centre behind a bar on July 4.
A human left leg was later found in
Kachola village behind a house.
The torso without a head was found in
Ahono Kanyasembe village behind a pit latrine.
Police said the body was badly
mutilated that they could not tell if it was of a female or male.
The body parts were moved to the
mortuary pending the identification process involving DNA testing.
Elsewhere in Katito,
Kisumu County, a woman was found
murdered and her body dumped on the roadside.
The naked body had a
deep cut on its head and blood stains on it.
Police said the
woman identified as Rose Atieno was killed elsewhere, and the body was dumped at the
scene.
A man accused of
battering her was later arrested pending investigations into the July 4
incident.
The body was moved
to the mortuary pending autopsy.
In Ishiara, Mbeere,
Embu County, the body of one Nyaga Mukundi, 56 was found on the roadside after
suspected murder.
Police said blood
was oozing from his mouth when it was discovered.
The motive of the
murder is yet to be established, police said as they moved the body to the
mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
In Athi River area,
Machakos County, a man was lynched by a mob on claims he was stealing iron
sheets.
The body of Mutuku
Musyoki was found lying on the roadside badly burnt after he had been stoned to
death.
Police moved the
body to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
Cases of mob
lynching have been on the rise amid calls on the public to surrender suspects
to authorities for action.
Police say some of the suspects are framed up and lynched which they term as criminal.
