
Police are investigating an incident
where a man aged 18 was shot and killed in an attack by gunmen at a watering point in the Bandasa area, Marsabit Town.
The victim, identified as Dargicho Bagijo, 18, was shot three times in the head and chest by two known gunmen who
escaped the scene.
The motive of the attack and murder
is yet to be known, police said of the July 2 incident.
The body was found near the watering
point with the deceased’s valuables lying next to it.
The body was moved to the mortuary
pending an autopsy.
The police recovered three spent
cartridges at the scene of the shooting, and they are subjecting them to
ballistic tests as part of the probe into the fatal attack.
Police said they are looking for two
prime suspects in the murder.
The area is located near the border between Isiolo and Marsabit Counties, where a dispute exists over the watering point, according to police.
In Isiolo, a man aged 18 was arrested over the murder of his niece. The girl, aged one month, belonged to the suspect’s sister.
The motive of the murder that happened in their house is yet to be established, police said, adding they were investigating the murder in the case.
Elsewhere in Maili Tatu, Tigania, Meru County,
Steve Gitonga, 55, was found dead in his house with severe injuries to his
head, back and hands.
Police who visited the scene said a blunt object hit the man, but they are yet to establish the motive, and no arrest has been made in connection with the July 3 incident.
The body was moved
to the mortuary pending autopsy.
In Madogo, Tana
River County, one Geoffrey Gitonga, 34, died in the hospital after he had been assaulted in Mororo village for unknown reasons.
Police said they are
looking for known suspects in the murder of the man.
The body was moved to Garissa Level Five Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
