The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has lost its grant title for its plot LR. No. 209/6900 in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.
In a notice, the examination board requested members of the
public to take the grant title to their offices or the nearest police station
if they come across it.
“Anybody who may have come across this document is requested
to drop it at the KNEC offices in South C, off Mombasa Road in Nairobi or at
the nearest police station,” KNEC said.
“You can also send it to KNEC via the post office using the
address below: The Chief Executive Officer, Kenya National Examinations Council, P.O. Box 73598-00200 Nairobi 2030,” KNEC added.
In a statement on X, KNEC made it clear that the lost title
is neither for KNEC headquarters in
South C nor for the Dennis Pritt land.
It further stated that the lost title is for an old case
about a piece of land in Kileleshwa.
“The Ministry of Lands advised they cannot replace the title
without exhausting all avenues of search and recovery, including this gazette
notice,” KNEC noted.
Kenya National Examinations Council is the national body
responsible for overseeing national examinations in Kenya.
Established in 1980, the board conducts school, post-school, and other examinations after the dissolution of the East African Examinations
Council and the Ministry of Education.
KNEC plays a role in curriculum monitoring by overseeing
national examinations to assess the effectiveness of the curriculum and
developing and reviewing examination syllabuses to ensure alignment with the
curriculum.
It also has a role in assessing learner achievements and
ensuring the quality of education at both basic and tertiary levels.
