Ruth
Wangare was pronounced dead on arrival at St. John’s Hospital in Githurai on Sunday, June 29, at night.
According
to the police, the deceased had a stab wound in the left upper side of the
stomach.
Police
said they were called to the hospital and later accompanied the man to his
house, where a kitchen knife with a pink handle was recovered.
The
knife is believed to be the murder weapon, police said.
The man
was detained pending investigations and autopsy on the body, which was moved to
the mortuary.
Police

woman and that they are investigating murder.
Meanwhile, a man taken to Ololulunga sub-county hospital in Narok while unconscious after a domestic fight in their house succumbed to injuries.
Police

He is
said to have gone to her house in the area before a fight broke out between the
two.
Neighbours
told police they heard the two quarrelling and fighting.
It was
then that the man was stabbed in the back and hands.
The
woman later tried to help him by rushing him to the local hospital, where he was

arrived at her house while bleeding and injured.

cases linked to domestic quarrels have been on the rise amid calls for sobriety
to solve such disagreements amicably.
Police say
up to eight murder cases are reported on a daily basis, which they term
alarming.
Most of the cases remain unsolved.
