The deceased had an injury in the left armpit after the attack. He was declared dead in a hospital in the area.

Police visited the scene and recovered the murder weapon and the suspect’s jacket, which had blood stains.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy, even as the hunt for the assailant goes on.

In Lodwar, Turkana County, a man was arrested after a woman he was accused of assaulting died in the hospital.

Police said the deceased, identified as Marceline Ajiko, 36, succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at a local hospital on Sunday evening.

Preliminary investigations reveal that there was a domestic misunderstanding between the accused and the deceased, which led to the fight that happened in Kailoseget village in Kanamkemer area.

The accused husband was arrested pending investigations into murder, police said.

Elsewhere in Chuka forest within Gachakoni village, Tharaka Nithi County, the body of a man was found partially burnt.

Police said his left hand had been chopped off at the wrist, and his legs were tied together with a sisal rope. Preliminary inquiries indicated that unknown suspected bodaboda riders attacked him on accusations of being a motorcycle thief.

The body was moved to Chuka Referral Mortuary pending identification and postmortem.
