Lekolool, who previously held the rank of a brigadier, has been elevated to a major general and named the new senior directing staff at the National Defence College.
Lekolool was among the three ADCs Uhuru had during his 10-year rule.
He made history as the first Aide de Camp to be drawn from the Navy.
He served until September 13, when President William Ruto ascended to power.
He also served shortly as Ruto's ADC before the appointment of Colonel Fabian Lengusuranga from the Kenya Army, who is the current ADC.
In October, he was then deployed to the Defence headquarters.
Lekolool is the son of the late Principal Commissioner, Francis Lekolool.
He is now a step away from being promoted to a three-star general (Lieutenant General), the second-highest rank in the military.
A Lieutenant General qualifies to be a service commander.
He was appointed after his predecessor, Victor Mburu, left the job to further his studies on matters of National security.
